Tracks Magazine - August 1955

A couple of decades ago I was travelling through northern NSW and called in to see Archie McDonald, an old 1 Armoured Regiment LAD mate. Archie had kept his copy of the first issue of the Regiment's glossy magazine, Tracks — August 1955. It is this magazine that is re-produced below

On the 7th February, 1955, the Signals Troop rejoined the Regiment to which it had been attached previously. It was with a few regrets that we left our corps unit, 1 Infantry Brigade Signals Squadron, but we are looking forward to a happy reassociation with all ranks of the Regiment, in work and play.
At present the Troop numbers five, with three members detached. Of course, there will be much coming and going of personnel in the near future, but it is hoped that the Troop will be complete (and stable) in personnel and equipment by the end of this year.
We salute the Royal Signals whose Corps Magazine, The Wire, we appreciate, and whose opportunities of active service we envy.
