A couple of decades ago I was travelling through northern NSW and called in to see Archie McDonald, an old 1 Armoured Regiment LAD mate. Archie had kept his copy of the first issue of the Regiment's glossy magazine, Tracks — August 1955. It is this magazine that is re-produced below

A major highlight of our Regimental life has been our participation in the ceremonies connected with the visit of Her Majesty the Queen and H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh.

The accompanying photograph shows W02 (then S./Sgt.) C. Gason attending Her Majesty.

The second photograph shows the Regimental Guard of Honour awaiting the arrival of Her Majesty for the State Opening of the Victorian Parliament.
